Is there true fellowship in the body of Christ? Are we united or divided?
Philippians 2:1-2 - If therefore there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.
“I remember as a child growing up in Louisiana that everyone knew one another. Some of our denominations were different; however, it didn’t stop us from fellowshipping and loving each other. It was the kind of love that Jesus said to have. We loved our neighbors, helped others, fed one another, took care of the sick, and talking about a village raising children. Need I say more?
Jesus said in Matthew 12:25-26 “A house divided can’t stand.” And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto then, Every Kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand. And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
Personally, to be honest I’ve seen so much division in the body of Christ. Many people confess to be Christians, yet, won’t even attend another church or visit one if it’s a different denomination from theirs. In order to overcome the evil in this world, we, “The body of Christ” must unite in one faith of God in which His son Jesus came to live by faith and to die so that we may live. If the body of Christ is divided into so many pieces against each other, how does He stand because of our division? Jesus is the answer. As we reflect on John 3:16, may these words remind us “that Jesus is the light and the truth.” I pray that we as the body of Christ will begin to fellowship with one another in spirit and truth on one accord like Jesus said to do in Philippians 2:1-2. Jesus will be back for a church without spot or blemish. Are we ready?
I would love to hear others thoughts on this as well. I pray no one gets offended. Jesus is about love, peace, understanding and coming together. We can do so much when we are together. Praise God for everyone that is working on one accord and fellowshipping with each other. Truly that is a blessing and your feedback is greatly appreciated and welcomed. Have a blessed week.
Speaking of fellowship, anyone reading this is welcome to fellowship at our church “Leaves of Healing Tabernacle” located at 9420 Lurline Ave, Unit D, Chatsworth, CA under the leadership of Pastor Lorraine Coconato. All are welcome. We will be having our Christmas Program and play on Friday Night, December 20th, 2013 titled “A Christmas Story, “The tale to two families”. Please come out and fellowship with us and share in the love of Christ. Thank you and many blessings to everyone. Have a blessed week in Jesus name.
