God has something better.

I continue with this series of trusting God because it so important for us to realize that God desires the best for His children.

Have you ever wanted something in life so bad that you could taste it? Did that something ever become a reality for you only to loose it? That happen to me. I felt so hurt when the thing I had desired for the majority of my life was taken away from me. I cried for what seemed like days and there are times when my eyes still tear up. However, when I look back at the situation, I know without a doubt that God knows best. I trust His judgment over my own. I know He has something better for me and I must wait on Him. No matter what it was that you lost or think you lost, with God there aren’t any losers. It may have been a job, a relationship or a series of other things in life. However, if we truly mean let His will be done, than we must trust God and move on beyond the pain and disappointment. We must have faith to know that God has something so much better in store for us. But just as it is written, THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.” (1 Corinthians 2:9). You can see from this scripture that God desires the best for us. Our first and furthermost desire should be the Kingdom of God. Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalms 37). What are you doing to show that you trust God?

Trusting in the midst of disappointment.

Have you ever been disappointed when you prayed according to God's will and what you prayed for didn't come through?  Well that happened to me recently. I even had one of the Elders pray with me, yet what I prayed for didn't come through. I must tell you I was truly disappointed for a moment or two.

How do we handle disappointment?  Do we praise God through the disappointment trusting that He knows best?  Do we complain, get upset, cry, stomp, ask why me?  How do you handle your disappointment especially when you feel it was something that was needed in your life at that moment?  I can't speak for the rest of you but as I let go of the initial disappointment, I began to think about my life and everything that God has done for me over the years. God has never disappointed me. He has always provided for me and my family.  I began to praise God for His goodness, mercy and grace. I thanked Him for hearing my prayer and answering it according to His will and not my own. God knows why my request didn't go through. I know to trust Him and not worry about why it wasn't answered.  My trust is in God and not in the things of man. I know that God has me and will never let me go. I will keep my eyes on Him in spite of what I see because He loves me. He desires the best for me and I know by faith that with Him I will always have the best.  Stay encouraged and don't loose site of God.  He always comes through.

I am going to send you a love letter from God, under separate cover.  It was sent to me by Mama Velma.  There are scripture references for every blessing that God has for us.
It is a beautiful letter.

Daddy Knows Best

Over the years, I have come to learn that God does know best. When I was younger, I was one of those people who would pray for things that I thought I wanted. Sometimes, I actually got them only to end up disappointed. You see some of those things weren't in line with what God wanted for me; however, we do have a thing called free will. There were times when I operated in my own free will, rather than obeying what God was showing me to do. I have to tell you, I should have listened to God. Now that I am older and a little wiser, I know that God knows what is best for me; therefore, I seek His will for my life. I trust Him to give me the best. He never fails. The New Living Translation reads "Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take." (Proverbs 3:6). The King James Version reads “In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths." (Proverbs 3:6). Now don't get me wrong, I'm human. It is difficult at times to submit; especially when it goes against something I want. However, when it is all said and done, I know without a doubt that Daddy (God) knows best. “The thoughts that God have for us are not of evil but of peace so that we will know that there is hope in a future” (Jeremiah 29:12).  A mentor and a very dear friend of mine once said to me “If you don't learn your lesson, you will repeat the class. Do you want to continue going through life repeating the same class?” My answer was “no I don't”. From that day forward I made a choice that I was going to obey God, no matter what. It's the best decision that I ever made.  How are you letting God direct your path each day?

The next Evening of Inspiration is Saturday, May 1st, 2010.  Hope to see you there.
